OOC Light Ongoing Roleplays Headcanon Crazy Death Note Adventures

Crime. It's common to let it be, or leave it to the police, is it not? Has one ever considered that they are... inefficient? The notebook... the Death Note... it came into my possession so I could properly punish evildoers.
Unfortunately, those who oppose me are those who oppose the will of 神 (Kami); God. It is a sin.
Those who fear me finding their name should know that they fear because they have done something wrong. Have no fear for it, and you have done nothing wrong.
I began with the punishment of major criminals who posed a threat to the society I planned to model. But there are more threats to this New World than just murderers. Petty criminals and the lazy slackers are also at risk. Consider your sins, and be ready before God to do what is productive in this world... or prepare to leave it because I see your existence as worthless.
Beware, if you are guilty. The eyes of God see all.

Mikami offered his explanation in fear that what he was doing put his God in danger somehow. There was a reason they couldn’t simply just go out and have a chat anytime they wanted to. Mikami understood that God had issues with the police, and possibly a force even bigger then that. But he also knew that the only thing they did was get in his way. He knew that God would create the perfect world, one without evil,or chaos. All he had to do was wait.

With wide eyes Mikami gauged God’s expression. Had he done something wrong? He felt the urge to throw himself down onto his knees, and apologize to him if that was the case. But at the same time he was sure that would be an annoyance to him.

When he said otherwise,Mikami let out a breath of relief. So he hadn’t angered him. Good. He wasn’t sure if he could live with himself if he had upset God. At his gesture,Mikami’s eyes followed it to the truly empty park that surrounded them. He looked back into the brown eyes of his master, and nodded wordlessly, still a little starstruck by his presence.

When he was praised,Mikami’s breath quickened again. Never in his life had a compliment meant to much to him. He sank to his knees. “Oh thank you,God!” He shook all over. “Thank you so much!”

Yes, bow as all of humanity should do. With the man on the ground before him, it was impossible to forget such incredible dedication. A toy? A toy? What a wonderful game. Would you like to play? …or is this even a game? A smirk that had crawled its way onto his lips almost unconsciously slipped away at the thought. In his mind, he imagined Mikami having almost exactly the same thoughts as him. Though they would change course when he thought of Kira, they had to be the same. The world is rotten. Rottenrottenrotten—God will cleanse it. Laugh now, it’s quite safe to do so. He was being thanked ever-so-pointlessly, and yet he was mindlessly amused by it. But Light Yagami was anything but mindless. He was God!

Reaching out with a single hand, two fingers and a thumb grasped at the prosecutor’s chin to lift his head. Upon careful examination and several minutes of silence, he tilted his head and offered a light smile. Yes. This will do quite nicely. Plans work well when the pawns listen to the king. To the God. Follow me during this trip to hell. I’m sure we’ll scream together, in deathly agony. Someday we’ll be in heaven. And this world will be the heaven that weI rule over. Your God demands that you do as told. You make me… amused proud. He had no disappointments, nor regrets. What does the insane man regret when he commits crimes busies himself with cleansing the world of all evildoers. He was upon his crucifix, sacrificing his own innocence so that maybe, the world could be an innocent place. The police should be thankful. They failed to do their job – so he did it for them.

Crimson eyes bored into an opposing pair for a short period of time before his lips finally parted to expel a breath that had seemingly been held as he thought. Elaborate thoughts. The thoughts of a genius. “You may stand now. You should know you are welcome as you are the one doing my bidding.” Yet another wave of a hand toward their surroundings, and he shook his head. “This meeting won’t be detrimental.” If it were, he might have been required to end the man. That would’ve been… tragic.

hand-of-god:

When the man in front of him opened his mouth,Mikami tried to compose himself. The words that came out of his mouth confirmed it,not that the lack of numbers above his head hadn’t,but it was something about hearing him talk that made Mikami’s breath quicken again. Bending his tall, skinny frame over slightly,he looked at the man before him with starstruck eyes. “God……..?”

Straightening,he glanced at his watch. “I-I always take a walk from 10pm to 11pm.” He nodded at his watch. “When I come home from 11pm to midnight I do things for where I work.” His eyes brightened, and he shoved his hands into his pockets. “Then at midnight I begin judgment.” In his pockets, his hands fisted. What if he wasn’t up to God’s standards? What if he was a disappointment to him? It felt very much like a son craving attention from his father, and considering Mikami never had a father figure himself, it was a foreign feeling that he was never used to having. He’d gladly kiss the ground where God walked, and he’d always do what he instructed him to.That much he made obvious.

The explanation that Mikami had offered him was almost unnecessary. He was aware of the fact that the man had a very meticulous schedule. The man could be described as OCD due to his habits. At a certain time, he did a certain thing, and this kind if repetitive pattern had been one of the reasons he’d chosen the man as his successor. His right hand was a dependable replacement for himself – he did as told, and he truly appreciated the fact that he was worshipped. He had his hand inside this puppet that made everything so perfectly simple. All went exactly according to plan, and he found himself grateful to the prosecutor. Indeed; quite helpful. Quite useful.

Crimson eyes regarded his servant curiously, as if gauging exactly what to respond. Carefully placed words created a fabricated world to his liking. But he wasn’t a liar. No, God would not lie. Especially not to his ‘messiah’.  Could an unexpected meeting such as this be detrimental? No, and if it were…  Regardless, he’d choose to forgive it for the fact that he could twist circumstances and make plans far more efficient. Everything he did as the God of the new world was to be perfected. There was no room for mistakes, and he’d made enough already to begin with.

A subtle smile played over his lips, and around him seemed an aura of almost innocence. He’d done research before choosing Teru entirely. He’d chosen him merely by intuition, but he’d still wanted to be sure of the perfection of his plans. He was well aware of these meticulous schedules. “I am aware. Feel no need for apologizing, nor explaining. The meeting was unexpected, but don’t fear me being angry.” Casting a hand toward the park around them and inclining his head, Light smirked lightly. It was an indication that no, he was not angry. In fact he was slightly amused by the unexpected circumstances. “As you can see… There is no one to witness this encounter. And even if there were, they would think this to be an innocent meeting between two friends who happened to bump into each other.”

Careful planning had kept him from finding a way to meet his servant until now. Though this was entirely accidental. Takada had been the ‘middle man’, and also, admittedly. . fun to toy with. Those with obsessions were interesting things that he had no care to return emotions to. Pretending was one thing, though. Their feelings meant nothing to him. Had Rem not threatened him, at one point he most likely would have ended Misa’s life. Unfortunate. She got in his way quite a lot.

Now for the game to begin. Yet another obsessive follower. Did he particularly care for the strings he was pulling? As a fact, such a thing, to him, was no one’s business. Perhaps the only time he’d truly cared was when it had directly involved his family. “I do wish to praise you, though. You never skip a night, and you do exactly as instructed. At first your pace was too fast… But now you’re doing perfectly.” Perhaps a bit of genuine praise.

hand-of-god:

The streets were completely devoid of anyone which is exactly how he liked his walks. No chance of anyone interrupting him,or starting some sort of strange conversation he didn’t want to be apart of. Just because his job required him to talk in front of people didn’t mean he liked talking to them. Mikami was a fairly decent public speaker. If he wasn’t he was sure God most likely wouldn’t have found him when he did, when he himself was speaking about how he felt toward Kira’s actions. To him it was right. To him it was justified.

Arriving at the park he normally walked by,his eyes scanned the area. Using his shinigami eyes,he double checked to make sure no one was around. This area was a hotspot for petty crimes, and if he even saw the slightest hint of chaos possibly erupting,he would put an end to it,sure no one would catch him in the act. They certainly never had before, nor would they ever catch him.

His eyes were nearly done sweeping the area until he caught sight of a man. What he saw made him do a double take.

It wasn’t the man’s appearance, which had a bit of the ‘pretty boy’ effect, but the lack of numbers above his head. Mikami’s breath caught in his throat as he heard the shinigami’s voice in his head. ‘Owners of the Death Note do not have number above their head where they are supposed to be.’ So that meant…….god.

Feeling suddenly like a starstruck fan,he weighed his options. Godgodgod. He’s here! HE’S HERE! Should I approach him? Wait, what if someone catches us? Then we’ll be finished!

His desire to meet his God made his thoughts take a new direction. He snapped his head around to search for others, his eyes widening and his breath quickening. GOD!

He read the man’s expression to make sure there was no warning signals in it. Upon seeing none,he approached him.

Most certainly, there were eyes on him. Eyes with intelligence on just who he was. Yes, Mikami had surely seen him. Perhaps the both of them were lucky. No one was present, so their meeting would be of no consequence. And yet, the enthusiasm of the man before him was curious. Lips quirked into the slightest of smirks, head tilting to the side as he froze to the sound of approaching footsteps. The worship was one of the things he praised; yes. For manipulation purposes. Though, he admitted that the prosecutor was far more intelligent than Misa had been. Still manipulated easily, though. All of those who looked up to him in such a way were his puppets on strings. He was tugging them in the right direction. Nothing more than mere toys. Though he was aware if he let it be, he could make them more than toys, and actually care. Yeah right.

Because caring is within the nature of God. He protects the meek and weak people of the world from evil. So he may trust those who worship him. But such things as attachment are below the standard of God. And yet, he had to feign friendliness as he did with all others. Perhaps he’d come out from behind his mask entirely for his right hand; his servant. If only for a little while. This was a trust game, and as such he didn’t plan to pretend he didn’t know he was being approached. Nor would he pretend he didn’t know who it was.

“Mikami.. I assume you know who I am? ..I hadn’t expected to see you here.”

hand-of-god:

Mikami’s brain screamed at him as soon as the clock struck 10:00 pm.

His schedule required him to go on a walk at this time, and it required even more so that he be back by exactly 11:00pm. If his schedule wasn’t followed the way it was meant to, it signified chaos. Chaos, the most detestable thing in existence, would never exist in Mikami’s life. Not if Mikami could help it.

Unless God said otherwise.

Mikami would do anything at the word of God. It was because of God that Mikami’s life took the path it did. Becoming a prosecutor, and dedicating his life to putting away all the evil that lied on the streets of Japan. Working as hard as he possibly could to do so.

But the justice system had it’s flaws, and without the sufficient evidence needed, criminals ran the street, uncaring what they did to anyone else, and almost always getting away with it. It was disgusting.

When the Death Note was presented to him,a new opportunity arose. One that allowed him to make sure evil never ran the streets again, making sure that every innocent person was spare from evil, and out of everyone, God chose him to help him. Because of that, he had to make sure everything went exactly to to his plan.

Taking his glasses off his desk,he put on his coat, and walked out the door, heading to the park not far from his home.

The wind blew lightly, making his dark hair sway slightly with the direction the wind went. The cold air was nice on his warm skin, but he couldn’t let the nice weather mess up his pace.

He must be back by 11:00pm.

Eyes locked onto the watched attached to his wrist. 21:45. Approximately two hours and fifteen minutes until the scheduled killings would begin. Yes, yes. His chosen successor was doing remarkably well. There were a few small things he disliked. The fast movements, for example. He hadn’t planned, himself, to punish the lazy or petty criminals until far later. The plan had to make other advancements first. Opposition needed to be eliminated. N — Near — the SPK in general… they were obstacles. To him, admittedly, they were hardly as much threat as L had been. In fact, he believed Near to be trash in comparison to his former enemy.

Rolling his shoulders and sitting up in his chair, Light took one last sweeping look at the data he had pulled up on the screen. None of the information happened to be of consequence, and inwardly he smirked. Delay it a bit..? Sure. It gave him more time to give orders for killings. Keke.. Those fools, I admit.. would be incredibly stupid if they didn’t suspect me. The fact that a few of them don’t know what to believe.. has been quite fun to toy with. Aizawa however.. is somewhat of a nuisance. Though I find his spilling information to be more of a convenience than I thought I would. The smirk made it’s way out, and he rolled his shoulders again; wiping it away as he stood from his chair to head for the door of the large office shared by those he worked with. Investigators searching for Kira. Pity all of them were too much of fools to realize Kira was the one heading them. Perhaps Aizawa was the only truly intelligent one among them.

“I’ll be going out for a walk.” The facade was in place, and the ball was rolling. He was in his game of deception, now, and none could break his mask without L’s genius. L had almost won. How sad that his best opposition was now gone. Things had been interesting until he was gone. Oh well. It’s started over, but this time it’s less of a challenge. A shame that can’t be helped I suppose. Curious glances preceded his exit as he left the building they called their base of operations. Innocence, how sweet. Someday their death would come. Hold the laughter — it’s not welcome yet.

The opposition to Kira would soon fade. Yes, the opposition to God would be gone. If only he could find a way to get Mikami in contact with Near. Unfortunate, but there wasn’t a chance for that. Feet carried him along a path he wasn’t particularly monitoring. He’d rather his feet carry him where they wanted to be. This happened to be into a park; under the cover of several trees, and the welcoming sound of flowing water from a fountain. Curious that he felt fated to be in this place. Something questionable might happen.

And yet, then his eye caught it. .. Him. Mikami was walking in this park. He could only turn his head away and continue moving along as if he were no one of importance. But this man had the Shinigami eyes.. It appeared they were going to meet for the first time in person. Strange. And in a place like this, too. I always was under the impression that I was pulling the strings enough for this to not happen until I ordered it to. No matter. If he greets me, I shall.. allow it.
